St Saviours had an early chance when their attacker managed to wriggle through two challenges and cut in on his right foot and unleash a great effort however Tom O’Donnell pulled off an incredible save that kept the game at 0-0.

And a few minutes later Jamie Robinson on his debut put in a cross from the left which deceived everyone including the Saviours keeper which gave us a 1-0 lead.

This saw us get on top and we pushed for a crucial 2nd goal, after a few chances it would eventually come when Conor Purcell’s shot along the ground deceived the keeper again as it just about crept into the bottom corner which was his first for the club, a brilliant move and forward run from Conor to give us that cushion.

That 2nd goal saw us gain a real strong grip on the game and the lads ran riot before the half time whistle, Jamie Robinson got his second of the game with a cool finish after getting in behind. 3-0.

A fourth goal came with some great play down the right and the ball across the box was met by Conor Purcell again who applied a calm finish, a great move and a great goal.

It was 5-0 with the last kick of the half, Daniel Mihalache free kick wasn’t dealt with and Jamie Robinson buried the rebound emphatically, a first half hat trick on his debut, not bad eh?

After half time we conceded from a set piece which was a disappointment but we responded well with Daniel Mihalache going in behind and finishing well for 6-1.

Saviours did pull another back with a good free kick which bounced awkwardly however we responded well and substitute Conor Houlihan scored with a brilliant finish. 7-2.

The last goal was by another substitute Sam Hogan, some great play which played him in as he came in from the right wing and he smashed the ball into the roof of the net for 8-2.

The game ended sadly with a head injury for Conor Purcell who had a superb game netting his first two goals for the club. For those asking Conor is absolutely fine and on the mend, big thanks to Christy Halloran who came on the pitch and helped out Conor, it was much appreciated!

So a great win and that’s now two wins from two. Next up is Waterford Crystal in the RSC on Sunday August 29th with an 11am kick off.
