A great reaction to a disappointing start to the season last week against Johnville saw us claim all three points against Kilmacthomas tonight in convincing fashion.

We got off to a flyer of a start when a long range effort by Cian Kervick looped over the keeper and gave us an early advantage for 1-0.

We pressed for a second and came close multiple times, but it did eventually come when Ben Peacock swiveled around multiple defenders and calmly placed the ball in the corner for 2-0.

Harry Ruddle coming into the team today gave a great account of himself through out and he made a great run into the box and was taken down for a penalty. Ben Hogan was the man who stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to give us a third. 3-0.

It was that man again Ben Hogan who made a incredible run up the pitch beating player after player before rifling an effort high into the top of the net to give us a fourth. 4-0.

The fifth came when Cian Kervick managed to squeeze through a challenge before once again rifling an effort past the keeper for 5-0.

At the start of the second half Ben Peacock got the ball on his right wing and cut in on his left to bury a ball in the far top corner which put us 6-0 up.

Kilmacthomas to their credit reacted well and managed to pull one back when their striker squeezed in and put the ball in the bottom corner with a great first time strike.

There would be a seventh though, Ben Peacock got in behind and again calmly placed an effort into the far corner. 7-1.

The eight came when two substitutes linked up, Alex Casey made a great run down the left wing and his ball into the back post was pounced upon by Daniel Mihalache who got a typical strikers goal. 8-1 and full time.

Good way to bounce back after a tough start last week, we felt we were much better than what we produced last week and felt we had too much of a part to play in our downfall but this week we bounced back well and got the first win of the season on the board and in convincing fashion. We demanded a reaction from each other and every player on the night gave a great account of themselves and this young squad is starting to gel more whilst gaining vital experience, lots of hard work still to be done and a long way to go but hopefully tonight's win will send us to Rathgormack next week with some confidence. Well done lads one and all. Come on Kilbarry!
