It was a windy day at the RSC but thankfully we got off to a perfect start when some lovely play managed to get Glen Kavanagh clean through on goal and he calmly placed the ball into the bottom right corner to give us the perfect start for 1-0.

We sought what would be a crucial goal but some good play often ended in frustration in the early stages of the half. Eventually it did come though when Glen Kavanagh again got in and placed an emphatic finish into the top left hand corner to double the lead for 2-0.

Ben Peacock made a good run in behind shortly later and applied a calm finish to get his first goal of the season for 3-0.

Just before half time Dungarvan would get a goal back but shortly later Glen Kavanagh would get his third when incredible play from Daniel Mihalache got him in a position to put the ball across the face of the box for Glen to score a poachers goal for the hat-trick. 4-1 at half time.

After half time Glen would get a fourth for himself as he rose highest to get to a high ball and head home to make it 5-1.

Super sub Conor Houlihan would also grab himself a goal before the finish when a ball fell to him from a corner and he managed to dig it out and scrape it home to make it 6-1.

Other chances were also made for Houly, Peter and Padraig among others however the final whistle would blow at 6-1 to mark a great win.

So a great 3 points to gain to keep the good start going. It’s important to try and keep the momentum from this game going into the next round of fixtures over the winter months. Next up for us is Rathgormack in the RSC on the 30th of October with a 2pm kick off.
