We got off to a good start when some good play down the right culminated in Daniel Mihalache getting a good shot off on his left but his strike was met by a good save by the Abbeyside keeper.

It was a tight game in the first half and chances were few and far between but Abbeyaide would take the lead just before half time, a good ball was met by their striker who was taken down and won a penalty. That penalty was well converted and we found ourselves 1-0 down at the break.

We did not play well at all in the second half and Abbeyside won another penalty mid way through the half. The returning Adam Power made an incredible save however the rebound was bundled in and we found ourselves 2-0 down.

Just when it looked like we would taste defeat an incredible fightback begun. Just as we entered into the 90th minute Peter Grogan stood up and thumped a free kick into the top corner to give us a lifeline.

Then incredibly with the last kick of the game Ethan Halloran weaved through two challenges and got a shot away which hit the keepers near post, trickled long the line hit the other post and eventually went in to save us a point.

In truth it was our worst performance of the season but the fightback ability was to be admired massively and if we can channel that spirit of the last 5 minutes of the game into the rest of our season we would be very well off. Two wonderful pieces of magic that will be in the goal of the season contenders come May saved us a crucial point in a tough ground so positives and negatives we can improve on to take going forward. Our next game is against Dungarvan Celtic in the RSC on Saturday the 16th of October with a 2pm kick off.
