Everyone at Kilbarry Rangers would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Paddy Power for choosing us for the #SaveOurGame initiative. When the advert for the initiative came up never in a million years did we think we would be picked. It was a shot in the dark. But the team at Paddy Power showed an incredible interest and enthusiasm about the club and it’s history. They showed a particular interest in the clubs late founder Noel Burke and they were happy to listen to stories about him and the club itself which was particularly appreciated from us at the club and we thank them for that also.
The team at Paddy Power were very willing to help after explaining to them the struggle we’ve endured financially since we started. As some people may know we re-entered the league in 2019, just short of two decades after the clubs last appearance. The 2019/2020 season was called to a halt in March 2020 and was later declared null and void. This didn’t hurt the club financially that badly but the following season of 2020/21 really was a bitter disappointment and left us in a really bad position. We only got to play 4 games of the season and like the season before it was declared null and void. This meant all the insurance money we spent was wasted and worse yet we still have been asked to pay other fees for the 2020/21 season despite getting no return. It was a huge waste and cast doubt on the new upcoming season.
But thanks to Paddy Power they stepped in and have helped us out massively by selecting us for #SaveOurGame. The contribution from them to the club will help us pay off some of those bills and get set up for the new season and beyond! We can finally now start to focus on the football and the football only and it’s just the shot in the arm everyone in the club needed and we will be forever grateful to them. We would also like to wish them good luck on the rest of the #SaveOurGame campaign going forward.

Thanks for reading!
Liam.
