Liam began playing football with De La Salle FC going from the academy to playing underage football however he gave up football at 15.
After missing football for a number of years Liam and some friends got the idea of reforming Kilbarry Rangers and began recruiting a squad.
Nowadays Liam is more involved in the coaching side of the club managing the side as well as holding administrational duties of the club but is still registered as a player just in case. In 2022 Liam joined Waterford FC Academy as a coach ahead of the national league season and balances both roles.

The BSC was launched by fans of Waterford United for 2010 (the Blues’ 80th anniversary) incorporating the IBSC which was set up several years previously by fans. The new club has helped develop a unity of purpose for everyone involved in Waterford FC.
